The Snooker Thread (Part 1)

agree with you on trump in the first round. I always like lisowski but he is what he is. i reckon he will beat stevens easy but always falters against top players in meaningful matches.

ding wilson is a tough one to call. ding is the better player but wilson is a great match player.

Agree on Wilson. An excellent Crucible player too,

He has most century breaks this year. I always felt that he had the game to win a world championship but have come to conclusion that he wont. He misses too many important pots when pressure is on.

True but he’s a great man to switch off completely after a bad miss and get back to normal.

I don’t think he’s able at the moment to put two big wins back to back at the Worlds given what’s required frame wise.

I think he’ll win one eventually though as he’s still young and already has huge experience.

I agree with @balbec about Zintong. He is the value at 22s. Going to back him ew. Think Jamie Jones is good value at 4s against Selby tomorrow

22’s? Chaaaarrrgggeee!!

With betfred. I just hate backing against Ronnie. He looks in a good place mentally and his game is in good shape. I just question whether he has the stamina and consistency to win at his age.

Zintong has been a revelation this year. He showed in Uk that long format suits him. He can lack concentration but that should not be an issue here.

FWIW Some fella on off the ball did a ridiculously long betting preview last night, where he used “metrics” to pick the winner. The metrics were nonsense, but he said Robertson won’t be beat.

Robertson is favourite. He has been outstanding this year but his record at Sheffield is pretty bad. The confined space of two table set up messes him up. If he gets to one table set up, he will take all the beating.

If he brings his long game he will take beating.

30th Crucible appearance for Ronnie (consecutive as well), equalling the record in Sheffield.

Don’t forget to get out for a bit of fresh air over the next 17 days during break in play between sessions

I’m giving Jackson Page a chance against the ‘awk today.
