10am throw in time tomorrow for Jimmy White as he begins yet another campaign to try and finally land that elusive first World title.
I’m cautiously optimistic this could be the year.
He takes on Gao Yang of China and that’s a match I’ll be following every shot of on Ceefax.

Jimmy really messed things up on the brown. Alas he failed to live up to his former name of Jimmy Brown, which he temporarily took by deed poll in 2005 in a sponsorship deal with HP sauce. And he’s definitely not feeling good like the other James Brown.
Bitter disappointment for us legions of Whirlwind fans yet again, but I remain a firm believer in the law of averages and am quietly confident that 2027 will be the year Jimmy finally lands that elusive first world title.
