The Snooker Thread (Part 2)

You never know. Ronnie put in a serious effort this year and he looked the likely winner from the start.

He was helped by Selby’s personal problems which rendered him a non-contender and Trump not been anywhere near the top of his game. Robertson was the one player I felt could have really troubled Ronnie if they met in the semis and it was pretty much a done deal once Lisowski took out Robertson in Round 2.

That was a lovely clinch between Ronnie and Judd at the end.

I wonder was there any ‘touching balls’

Foul and a miss

That’s an utterly iconic montage. I can’t stand Queen in a general sense yet have always loved that song, probably mainly because I associate it with the Crucible.

Hopefully they do something similar for the Class of 92 and their history at the Crucible

Is Ronnie Better at snooker than tiger was at golf ?

By a distance

Well done to Ronnie.

The best ever. Has shots no one else has.

I’m not having by distance anyway.

Ronnie can hit shots nobody else can. Tiger would be behind Seve and Mickelson in the creative stakes Golf wise. Just my opinion

Yes. He might not be quite as good at snooker as Jack Nicklaus was at golf though.

Hendry had his cue that be played with since his teenage years broken in airport baggage.

Supposed to have messed his game right up and then he got the yips.

Probably nobody ever as dominant as Hendry but Ronnie is probably the ‘greater’ player at this stage.

I do not think anyone seriously argues that SH was a better snooker player than RO’S. A better competitor in ways, perhaps, but not better with a cue.

RO’S letting Mark Selby get under his skin is a blot. But RO’S had demons to overcome as well.

If Ronnie really tried for his whole career he’d be at 10 worlds plus handy. He is a genius. But like all good geniuses, a flawed one.

Someone had to say it

I wonder does he take as much time over each shot as he does with the frees?
