The Sopranos

The Sopranos is a decent show but it’s Gomorrah for slow learners.

A slapstick character like Paulie Walnuts really does not give the show any credibility.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he belongs in the Simpsons, he’s a cartoon character

– Christopher: Where’s my arc, Paulie?

– Paulie: Kid…Richard Kimble, the Devil’s whatever, those are all make-believe. I got no arc either.

I was born, grew up, spent a few years in the Army, a few more in the can. And here I am. A half a wise guy. So what?

Paulie was half wise guy in real life and served time.

That interview of him from years ago is class, he would have been a scary cunt in his prime just shows how great an actor he was putting the humour in Paulie.

Just watching individual episodes on occasions now.

So much packed into the hour. Christ.

An episode of the Sops is like a Shakespearean play; every scene, every line has meaning.

I saw a recent episode where Paulie and Patsy roughed up some lad about something and The Three Bells by The Browns was played.

I hadn’t heard that song in 20 years. Marvellous.

Johnny Sacks. Unwavering commitment to his wife yet murders people no bother.

Love it!

The tenderness with which he cares for her and her weight issues… Then he’d murder someone in a blink of an eye.
