The Sopranos

That was an argument you were having with someone else I’d say

Give Band of Brothers a go too. Only a mini-series so no massive time commitment.

And now i’m having it with you…

I saw it when it came out

oh.

ok.

Carry on.

It’s next on the list.

For real.

I don’t know where they find all the time to watch so much TV.

Lucky bastard. All of that ahead of you. Put Mad Men on the list after the Wire.

Worth reading episode recaps online after each show from the likes of the Guardian or Vulture. Makes you appreciate things and nuances even more. Especially for the Wire.

Good episode podcasts out there too I believe (if you have the time)

“Why are you making me do this, you fat, fucking, miserable piece of shit?”

Watching the ‘University’ episode of the Sorpranos. The one with the two stories going - Meadow and her relationship and Tracee the stripper. Both girls of the same age with a completely different experience of life. Absolutely superb. One of the best hours of TV I have seen.

Safe to say you’re liking it then.Tracee came to a sad end.

I agree 100

I’ll be shot for this but I think the Pine Barrens episode is very overrated. Started dipping back a few months ago. It’s my 3rd watching of it and it does dip in quality as it goes on, character and story wise. Season one and two with junior are peak.

I’ve just watched it for the 8th time and it gets deeper and deeper every time I watch it - the character’s grow year on year - The second half of the last season didnt have much in it, it was just trying to wrap it up… But I dont know what you’re watching if you think the characters retreat as it goes on - the depth to Tony and Carmella’s relationship and the acting between them in some scenes is phenomenal … if anything it goes deeper and deeper into characters year on year and moves away from the wise guy stuff that junior represented

Tbh the Tony/Carmela thing was boring, as was the Melfi thing on the rewatches.
It was a tragedy what happened to Furio. The scene when he arrived and Tony sat out in car smoking a cigar whilst he collected from the nail bar couple who Chris was letting slide the whole time. He gave them some hiding. Then he’s like a puppy every time he’s sees Carmela a season later.
Didn’t like the Vinny character story either. Although what I would grant you is more Johnny Sac and ultimately Phil was a positive

The whole Melfi thing was interesting in actual time as we were all wondering would they have sex at some stage
