I saw it. But Janice is bit of a bitch though.
Oh she is yeah…but he couldn’t stand to see her at peace
Portraying Tony as the most affable of anti-heros resonates with that dark side we all possess deep inside us.
That’s a great scene with the Sunday dinner alright.
Love that scene. One of the best in the whole thing.
Afterwards he left and strutted down the street delighted with himself.
And the credits came up.
I must have watched it 9 or 10 times at this stage.I love it.Hes a likeable character but behind it all he’s a ruthless cunt and has no trouble killing somebody who threatens his way of life.
Your surely a big fan of the soundtrack also.?
I am. Deadly.
Tony’s a big fan of Q104.3.Which is a classic rock station in the NY area.Hence a lot of that kind of music
A great scene in the episode where Ad is whacked.
Chris seems to be debating going into witness protection with her and then, while filling up his Hummer with fuel, he sees a poor family crowding into a small car with their possessions on the roof. He was horrified that he could end up like that. And ultimately was willing to offer up his fiancee’s life so as to maintain his ‘Hummer’ way of life.
What an utter arsehole. It’s actually such a sad, gutless way of life amongst all the killings and the likes.
What’s French for ‘I grew up without a mother?’
Yeah he couldn’t see himself living like that so his only option was to let her be killed. In the end every one of them were cowardly bastards for all their hardman talk,99% of them would sell out everybody and everything to save themselves.I done buildings for Gorgeous Vinny Basciano in NY.He was head of the Bonanno family,a lovely fella to deal with but an absolute cunt behind it,he had no bother shafting you for money when he felt like it and there was fuck all you could do about it.Hes doing life atm as far as I know for murder
They have a twisted logic about what it means to be a ‘man’. Like all organised crime. They don’t seem to realise that they can be snuffed out in a second.
There is an obsession with money and materialism. But that’s not just the mobsters. The likes of Carmella is addicted to it as well.
That was a great scene where she went to the shrink who was an older guy and basically told her that she was a cunt.
She was the biggest cunt of them all imho.Hiding behind the church when the shrink told her to get a divorce. When ever she started to make a big deal about something Tony would buy her jewellery or a new car and it would keep her quiet for a while.
The Sorpranos is a masterpiece in my view. The only other long US series I’ve watched is Breaking Bad. While that is superb in a very conventional sense, The Sorpranos is way ahead in terms of depth and willingness to push boundaries of conventional TV series not just in terms of brutality but also what it means to ‘entertain’. Now, nearly 15 years later since it ended, it still is revolutionary.
Sopranos actually debuted in 99.
"Cause that sugarless motherfucker, it’s the last fucking drink you’re ever gonna have! "
