@Godshonesttruth aah cobden is a better jockey but it was very harsh on him to loose his job like that.

first 3 winners for mcmonagle and he has fair chances in the next 5 races.

Why the delay in Killarney ?

Gary Noonan receiving treatment

I’d definitely rather have M Walsh on my horse than Harry Cobden

joseph has only 7 horses entered tomorrow.

he is trying to win in del mar / deauville as well as Naas

How many lbs better per ride do you think.Cobden is?

It’s not every workaday ride, it’s the championship races where the margin is crucial.

Some bollocks being talked about Mark Walsh here. He’s an absolutely fantastic jockey, every bit as good as Harry Cobden. Championship races, man, this fella’s won 16 Cheltenham races, including a Gold Cup. So that is absolute bollocks.

You might answer the question in terms of championship races.

I wont claim to be an expert but Cobden seems a class act in 5 and 6 runner races around the UK but is just totally unproven in the rough and tumble of Leopardstown at Christmas or the DRF when there’s big fields and loads of traffic.

What you see with Walsh is what you get. There’s no real evidence Cobden is better.

McCoy struggled badly riding in Ireland at different times. Kind of knocked the summer festivals on the head in the end bar Galway. Irish tracks take a lot of knowing.

Job would probably have been to let Walsh ride the Irish horses and Cobden the English ones as Walsh hasn’t a million years left anyway.
