The Sport of Kings and Equine Matters part ix

He’ll need to settle better. I’m surprised this is the race they’ve gone for. There surely would have a novice handicap he’d have a nice mark for. I suspect they are over for the day out and it wouldn’t take a huge run to pick up some place money.

Will surely get a good pace to aim at if he’s settled down the back, been a while since he saw ground with a bit of good in it. You’d imagine something in Galway is in the longer-term plan

Some paddle through the last there :hushed:

He looks to have gone wrong

Ruby and Hoiles went very quiet on the run there. The uneducated eye wouldn’t see what they saw. Ruby on co-comms in running is fascinating.

Put down due to a broken back, sad to see it.

Brave horse to keep running to the line with a broken back. It can be a very cruel sport

Did townend get a ban ?

A classic Aintree boilover where the Cheltenham hotpot is found wanting. Back the non Cheltenham horses blindly!

Not a bad run but probably found his level now, will definitely be interesting in handicap company. The ground looked very fast.

Solness to go off out in front in the next and not be caught!
