The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters 🐐

Is this bendywire for real or is he actually this much of a simpleton?

Ben, you’d be more advised to sort your own methods out first before questioning anyone else.

Any idea who won the 12.15 in Steepledowns?

Attn Dunph - you might want to throw your eye over the card for the 5.00 in Tipperary on Sunday

That’s a fair hike, 8-6 to 11-0, though there is a 4pound claimer on board. The tissue price is 14/1. I might well take in that meeting…

I’m heading to the Curragh tomorrow so if anyone has any tips or opinions for the card please post them here…

[/quote]Dawn to dance in the 5.15 won well last time out, worth a score anyway!

Oh lord what a disaster of a day at the Curragh…

I was close enough to heading to Tipperary but a downpour just I was thinking of leaving changed my mind.
What you back in the Curragh?

2.05 Free Art 6/1 (on the way in i was talking to some greaseball who told me to back Pathfork) .
2.35 Samuel Morse 11/10 (i was going to back Dunboyne Express at 2/1 w/o the fav but chickened out) .
3.05 Lady Springbank 8/1  .
3.40 Hibaayeb 9/2   .
4.15 No bet (had a lovely fish pie and cone instead).
4.45 Airspace 5/1   .
5.15 No bet.
5.45 No bet.

I then went to back Aliceaneileen at 5/1 in Tipperary to save the day. All was going well and i thought i was about to recoup my lossses, until she decided to run out through a barrier. Summed up my day. To make it worse my auld lad backed two winners at 14/1 and 8/1 and had a placed horse at 33/1.

It is the last time i go backing horses on a whim and a prayer in the name of a fun day out.

You do realise that one race was on the flat Dunph and the other was over Hurdles?

I do now…

I had the pleasure of seeing Tommy Barrett in action today, SS**. He is as cool as a cucumber. Can’t say i’ve seen him before? Does he only stand at the Curragh? He looks like an extra from an Al Pacino movie.

The boys on ATR were getting v excited about an incident at Ballinrobe this evening.

The Paul Magnier trained Golan Go was heavily backed from 20’s into 8’s, but then got very upset in the stalls and eventually managed to half break through them but got stuck on them so was in quite a bit of distress. They got him out gave him a quick jog around but then reloaded him into the far over stall as he had broke his own one (moved from 16 to assume stall 1). Apparently the draw bias in Ballinrobe is heavily weighted towards the higher numbers. The horse missed the break and ran a stinker.

The horse should probably never have run after the initial incident and I wouldn’t be too happy if I had backed it. Chapman was gone lerk over it.

Originally tipped up at a big price, has now followed up with two well supported wins. Get in !

Flights from Shannon for €35 return at the moment for Arc weekend.
But if we make the latter stages of the championship it’ll be on around that weekend.
Decisions, decisions.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Leopardstowm card tonight…Couple of group three’s in it…

No but Sit Mark has a very interesting one going in the Finale at Bath(17.40)
Very interesting indeed

He’s drifting on Betfair?

A small bit yup. Im on it at any rate, once Sir Mark gets them going they can be hard to stop

absolutely friendless, i have a few pound on it but not happy in the fact it has drifted from 3.7 to 5.0 in a matter of minutes
