Hereās one to watch from Herbie Fogg, who is an alright sort

Lordship (IRE)
This week I thought we might freshen things up with a move in a different direction and take a look at a modest handicapper I happen to know extremely well, who is likely to be knocking on the door sometime soon at a potentially decent price. Heās entered for Chester this Saturday where conditions are currently conspiring against him, in fact he may not run, but that shouldnāt put you off when conditions are right.
The horse has two basic requirements, a decent early pace and ground anywhere the soft side of good - not always the easiest combination to put together. Heās by Kingās Best, so a little bit of cover never goes amiss.
He stands up to an average amount of racing, around 10 runs per season and then heās generally over-the-top and campaigned in the knowledge that, despite his best efforts, he will inevitably slip back and kick off next term from a competitive mark. Heās invariably brought to peak fitness over the first 2 to 3 runs of a campaign, trimming the mark yet further and abruptly propelling him into contention.
I know because Iāve lived and breathed everything heās done since we picked him up several years ago at the Tatts October horses-in-training sale as a backward 2 year old. In 2007 he scored twice, with a near miss at 50/1 and right now heās at exactly that point in his prep where heās liable to become a handful anytime soon.
2008 was exasperating, he improved a little, posted some career best efforts and hit the cross bar, but failed to get the ball over the line in that crucial 10 race window. In 2009 he entered work a month late and has been playing catch-up, often running in unsuitable conditions, which effectively limits his chances to somewhere not far off nil. He came back to us very fresh and itās taken a while to get his head straight and burn off the fizz - heās still pulling, but off a mark of 52 that shouldnāt unduly dent his chances if the ground and pace are in his favour.
Heās quite rider sensitive and is one of those who benefits from soft hands - if you fight him it all ends in tears. Senior proās tend to take too firm a line, tighten the bit and man-handle him. They fight him, he fights them. Occasionally we try it, but it never works. Luke Morris was the exception but weāre finding him more difficult to book these days (compounded by the number of bans). Lordship tends to go well for apprentice riders and we have a relatively unknown 7lb claimer who gets along with him very well and via our trainer Tony Carroll a number of others we can call upon to ride the right way. You may also see him partnered up with Matty Batchelor who we know very well.
So you can put a line through mostly everything heās done this term. At Warwick on easier ground he immediately ran into 4th, although we were holding him up and dropping him back to work on his attitude - and obviously Warwick is the last place youād want to be dropping back over 7fl or a mile. But that marked our card that the ability was still there.
If he runs at Chester on ground faster than good it will simply be that we canāt withdraw as there has been no change in the official going since declaration (at the time heavy rain was forecast but itās now looking less likely), so a plan B fixture at Brighton on Tuesday may be of more interest, weāll have to see.
Keep an eye out for the old boy. If the race looks pacey and the conditions are easy heās phenomenal each way material for the next 4 or 5 outings. For updates, visit my Blog or login to @herbiefogg on Twitter.
Is this essentially a tipping service Sledge?
congrats to DB on becoming a racehorse owner
Whatās this then?
Yeah but they drop in some free samples in a free email that Iām subscribed to. He called the winner of a French race a few weeks ago in one such sample that I posted in this thread.
Can anyone subscribe to this free email no strings attached? How often would you get tips? Would they be any good? One more question - how much are you paying for the subscription and is it worthwhile?

- Alright whatās the catch?
- How much is membership?
- Is it worthwhile?
I reckon thereās enough owners on this board now for a private group to be set up.
I heard your own fella showed some signs of improvement at last, interesting times ahead for him and his connections.
Thought Seamie Heffernan was possibly a bit hard done by last night, that horse is a pig at the best of times. He lashed out at the ATR viewers saying they run racing these days!
