The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters 🐐

What ye backing in the Kerry National tomorrow? Hard to see Eric Mcs horse win it for the 3rd year but he won’t be far away.

Heading down in the morning. Couldn’t be arsed going today after last nite in Ennis for an all flat card.

Hard to see PonMeOath doing it with 11-7 on his back, but impossible to rule him out as well. The horse is trained with this race in mind every year. One of the owners got a call from the festival organisers last year asking for the cup to be returned before the race, they were told “Sure there’ll be no need for that, we’ll be hanging onto it”.

he’s physically a small specimen too if memory serves me, not built for carrying that kind of weight.

The owner or the horse

I know I don’t have to clarify that one for you!

Ruby Walsh and Tony Martin land the big one with Northern Alliance. Was well backed into 4/1 fav.

Stupid fucking Paddy Power website I was watching it on decided the freeze going into the last furlong and only came back as they crossed the line. I should have watched it on Betfair.

Richard Hills is after giving two cracking rides in the first two races in Ascot today…Came from second last in both races inside the final 2 furlongs to win them both convincingly…

Hills makes it a treble on sayif…he is on fire…

I hope someone doused him with some cold water…

would room termperature or lukewarm water not do?

Looking at the results from Athlacca, this has been a black weekend for The Runt. Are there any glad tidings from Liscannor to salve the wounds?

I have it on good authority that as we speak the Runt is currently drowning his sorrows in his local…

Newcastle, Rathcannon, Liscannor, results all the same

Paddy had to be withdrawn injured after clocking the fastest up the field, the horse meanwhile acted the usual cunt.

Did he fall?

no, he doesn’t fall. He just refuses to settle.

bad weekend all round

Not a bad weekend for me, had a nice wedge on Rip yesterday and roared him home in a Bruce Betting shop in Waterford

I was in the field of dreams today. Clonmel… Some shocking scenes, horse got a compound fracture of a hind leg down at the bottom of the hill and proceeded to jump the next (with leg literally swinging off) until he came to a stop in front of the stand. I didn’t wait to watch but I hope they had the creatur down quickly.

What race was this?
