The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters 🐐
Amateur jockey, T.E Doran banned for 50 racing days for not obtaining the best possible placing on Massini’s Trap in the opener at Ballinrobe this evening.

Didn’t look great it has to be said, but I wonder would the penalty have been as harsh if it was one of the more established jockeys
You’ll find the turf club love the soft touch.

Look at all the longest bans handed out in recent years and you’ll find very few of them affecting the top yards and riders. Nearly always an amateur jockey or restricted trainer who gets these bans. The turf club can then turn and say “look at us, we are really clamping down on shenanigans” without having to face the awkward questions or legal teams employed by the big boys.

They caved in to Barry Connell’s might when Danny Mullins got his suspension reduced.

Former friend of the forum Count Salazar got his annual win tonight in Wexford

Can’t believe another year has passed.

Thinking of you today and every day old pal.

You don’t understand Juhy. I was very attached to him and his passing was so sudden

Those looking for some value in the Galway Plate could do a lot worse than backing Buckers Bridge at 20-1. This second season chaser is best fresh and I would be surprised if he is not a lot better than his current mark.

Cheers FP. Although the 20’s seems long gone.

stan james and corals still 20s

Done and done.

Who’s pulling out to let Carlingford Lough in?

Top one I suppose. Just cant have Carlingford Lough, does not jump well enough. He is definitely well handicapped but that is worthless if you cant jump the fences.

Some decent horses going over timber today, Blackmail and Union Dues are very exciting.

I’ve also stuck a few quid on muirhead

On Romanesco at 20s myself.

What can possibly go wrong…

I’ve klept done at 12-1.up a nice bit from the last two days.

JP pulls out Like Your Style

There was a change in the going. Wouldn’t be worth risking your horse on unsuitable ground.
Maybe if other owners were as considerate there would be less horses killed at Galway.

Think you’ll find the change in going would have suited Like Your Style.

Come on banana…drifting big time though!!
