West has hit the nail on the head with Tony - he’s an easy going guy who just needs an interesting plot line to win us over. I see the Holdens as replacements for the Sutherlands and Tony is an awful lot more interesting than Rhys.
See I think Tony has the potential to be a great character. I like his presence on screen he has a very calming influence. He has been very supportive to Beth even when she was been completely irrational. Plus hes done nothing to hurt any one since he has been on the show.
I try not to dwell on the ages too much as it gets too confusing but the Kim one really did annoy me. In a similar vain - how long has Robbie been in school should he not be well done at this stage? Tasha doesnt appear to be making any effort any more, but every now and again we see Robbie trying to study for the finals.
Really dont like Brad at the moment I have yet to forgive him for stealing Sallys job and he is not helping the case by being such a jerk to her every time they meet. I cant understand why Sally is bothering with him she can be a friend to Emily if she wants but why race after Brad when he is acting like a fool. He has his sister Rachel for support if he needs it. Where is Rachel she gets awful upset over Emily after meeting her once but yet it doesnt appear to have come visiting since. I dont care if she is taken up with Kims case she could spare a visit to her Brother and his dying wife.
I never got confused with Kim’s age. We know he’s much younger than Rachel, that’s why she’s so insecure. He was in Robbie’s class but I always thought he was maybe a year or two earlier and had just missed some schooling time due to swimming competitively.
Brad is acting like a self-centered prick for the last while. Sally should tell him to take a hike. Also agreed on Rachel. Worrying about Kim the whole time while her brother’s wife is dying. She is a trained psychologist but she doesn’t even talk to them.
Couple of dodgy americanisms there.

I should really be doing something better with my time. An email has just been circulated in work to curtail our use of the internet to “gebuine business activity.”
I had typed “self-centred” originally but thought it looked odd so went with the Americanism. Not proud of myself for having done so, they’ve enough control as it is without influencing my spelling.

I still don’t get the support for Tony. I’d replace ‘calm’ and ‘supportive’ with ‘boring’.
All he does is ‘support’ Lucas, Jack, Beth, Matilda, Robbie, Tasha, Kim and even Scott and Hayley before they left. Just standing there in the background with a puzzled look on his face. At least Mr Stewart gets in there and helps in a real and authorative way. But Tony’s just a wimpy puppet for that ghastly Hunter woman.
I remember he was in the show about a week when he started advising Scott about his relationship with Hayley, ‘I know it’s none of my business but if you want my two cents worth…’ No, we don’t so fook off you boring dick.
Ha, ha. Yeah, it was pathetic the way he accepted being sacked. That was just after he stood up in the staff meeting and commended Brad on the great job he was doing. 5 minutes later Brad takes him aside and fires him and there’s still no negative reaction out of him. He needs to either grow a pair or be turfed out of the show.
I fully accept that my tolerance (bordering on affection) for Tony is irrational and inexplicable. I realise he has been a soft touch and he was brutally considerate about his sacking. Still I just have this hope that he’ll go off on a mad drunken rage one day (he does have a beer from time to time) or he’ll score that Tara chick in the gym or something.
Fully agree on the Emily crap - that was the last sort of storyline we needed right now.
Anyone know how far behind Australia we are - it seems like we’re ages behind but it’s scorching in Summer Bay at the moment in the episodes we’re watching and we’re hardly a whole year behind so is it really the start of the summer or were these episodes shot months in advance?
I don’t think we’re that far behind to be honest. Having watched the last 5 mins of the season finale, which was broadcast in Australia on 8 December, it was clear there’s loads of stuff to happen between where we are now to get up to that point.
The thing is that plots move very rapidly in the show. Remember Lucas went totally out of control for a few weeks, then cried and said he missed his real mum and was back to being the boring drip we all hated in the blink of an eye.
Even watching over the last few days I can see signs of the plots I’m expecting to see. I wouldn’t say we’re more than 6-8 weeks behind based on all mathematical probabilities.
Ah good - it doesn’t seem like that long since the last season finale but looking back it was ages between seeing the stalker and her appearance on the show again.
Miss Home and Away at your peril today.

Agreed excellent episode today. You must admit Tony was great you wanted him to be more authorative and I think he well delivered that today.
Tony went a good deal up in my estimation alright and it was great at the end. Why didn’t Lucas just walk out with the file rather than let her take it back off him? He really is an idiot. It made for a cracking ending though.
Don’t want to ruin anything for the 6.30pm brigade.

Lucas really was a fool compounding idiotic mistake after idiotic mistake. I cant believe he let her get the page back wuss. How far away is Alf? I cant understand why he didnt call them in before attempting to call the police.
Never thought of calling Mr Stewart. Lucas is a gobshite. Sitting down reading the page then allowing her to grab it back off him. I guess now that he’s seen it the courts could ask for access to the papers of Northern Districts Hospital because they have reason to believe she may be lying. No way Lucas thought of that though, he was just being a fool.
Tony came out of it with may more credit. Mark my words this man will be a Summer Bay great. Most teachers turn out to be great characters:

I dont understand how the hospital cant just reissue the test anyway; there must be another record of it. If they want to drag it out they could pull the whole Lucas is lying as Kim is a friend I really hope they dont though.
I never thought of it like that it gives me more hope for Tony. He really does have such potential that its a shame to see his character wasted. I would like to see him in storyline without Beth I dont want any lame affair storylines no one ever comes out good from them.
I said all along I can’t understand how they couldn’t have re-issued the test or at least have a copy of the results on a computer or at the lab or wherever. Somewhat far-fetched.
Tony’s still a clown. About time he showed some balls; he’s only had about 100 opportunites to do so before now. He really needs to get rid of Beth to have more opportunity to flourish. How weird was the set up in their house? Mattie being with Lucas was like siblings going out with each other. I haven’t heard of anything like that since before sam’s sister moved to Australia.
Thats where I disagree I dont think Tony has had any opportunity to shine up to now. He was brought in as a love interest for Beth and thereafter the writers dont seem to know what to do with him. I found the moving in strange only because they did it so quickly but Lucas and Mattie was no stranger than Ric and Cassie.
