I’d be wary of Dimitrov later. He is brittle and is liable to be beaten before he sets foot on the court and if he does come out with that mindset, Federer will win in straight sets for the loss of about 6 games.
Dimitrov has incredible natural talent though and if he comes out in the type of mood he was in when he dethroned Sir Andy at the Championship in 2014 or pushed Nadal all the way in 5 sets in the 2017 Australian semi final, he’d beat Federer.
Federer still looks traumatised over the loss in the Championship final and he has repeatedly lost at Fourth Round/Quarter Final stage at Flushing Meadows in recent years to the likes of Berdych, Robredo, Del Potro, Millman.
You got both predictions right. Fed beaten by Dimitrov. Fed had a medical timeout for a back injury. Interesting semi final between Medvedev and Dimitrov now. Medvedev I think would be the one to give Nadal a few problems in the final.
Commentators eye. I’m not a gambling man but I’d imagine the odds were tidy enough on a Dimitrov/Medvedev double.
Bit of a shock. Dimitrov’s form had fallen off a cliff in 2019. Very interesting semi final in store between him and Medvedev. No Open can throw up the shocks like the US Open.

Dimitrov has been plagued with a shoulder injury last two years. He’s overcome it now and a fit Dimitrov is a dangerous proposition for anyone.
But his whole career has been more or less a disappointment. He’s 28 now and this only his 3rd slam semi final. He has always been brittle mentally.

Very astute, you are the most knowledgeable poster on Tennis on the tfk. Sad to see Roger battling away in obviously horrendous pain. It is a mark of the man that he carried on and finished the game and not quite on his stool like that looser Nadal. A warrior like Roger would have to be carried out unconscious before he would capitulate on his stool like a bitch

Fair play to Medvedev last night, could easily have pulled out in that first set but stayed in there battled away and won the match. Ok he was helped by Stan playing shite but still he hung in there when he could simply have conceded the match.
What a lovely human being Rafa is.
Monfils will be home in no time here.
Berrettini has upped it and is absolutely rifling his forehand now.
Del Potroesque from him. Both lads are finding it tough physically, would still expect Monfils to pull through.
Both lads looks spent and we’re only a set and a half in.
Big Matteo takes the second set.
Some of the these forehands from Berrettini are boomers.
Double break for Big Matteo, he now serves for the third set.
Big Matteo grabs the third set.
He is looking good to join fellow giraffe Daniil Medvedev in the last 4.
Monfils breaks in the 4th after a mammoth game.
Berrettini has been playing brilliantly on the big shots but Monfils found an extra gear there.
Both guys struggling physically again.
