Nadal breaks back

Vamos!

There will be lots of breaks tonight.

A 40 year old beat him in 4 sets

The seeding was adjusted to favor nadal. He was also beaten by a 37 year old.

In 4 sets

I’ll let you off with your slip of the tongue/keyboard in the first sentence

Rafa looks very nervy.

It doesn’t matter if it was 3 sets. They meddled with the seeding system to screw Rafa. All anyone wants is fairness. Wimbledon go above and beyond to protect Federer.

Your argument might have some weight if Nadal lost a titanic battle after 5 sets, he lost in 4 sets. It made no difference

Medvedev is the real deal.

Big chance for Nadal here.

The result is irrelevant. It isn’t fair. It’s the same at the Australian open. Federer always plays at night when the temps are down. Nadal plays in the middle of the day when temps are at its highest. Nadal is the greatest of all time. He’s like Maximus in gladiator. He defies the odds.

Clutch from the Russian.

That was a real test of nerves for the Russian and he came through in flying colours.

Last year at the Championship you claimed the long standing 11pm curfew on Centre Court imposed at the behest of the local borough council screwed Nadal over but not Djokovic and cost Nadal the title. Very odd logic as Djokovic had won the 3rd set on the stroke of 11 when they were called off court for the night to go 2-1 up and had all the momentum if it had played to a finish on the night.

This year you claim that seeding Federer 2 and Nadal 3 and not Nadal 2 and Federer 3 cost Nadal the title even though Federer beat him comfortably in 4 sets in the semi final where they were seeded to meet anyway.

What’s fair is fair. Nadal needed to wear Novak down over 5 sets. He’d have won the 4th set on the Friday and finished him off in the 5th. When it was split into 3 sets and 2 sets over two days Nadal always had no chance.

It is very relevant when you said Nadal could be going for 20 tonight if it was different

I’d be very worried on the fate of a potential tie breaker.

Bizarre logic to think that the player who has the momentum of winning the last set gains more from postponing play until the next day

Incorrect. Nadal was always going to win the 4th set. If the 5th is played on the Friday Novak is wrecked. If it’s played on the Saturday he is fresh. It’s quite simple.

Nadal had played a 4 hour 45 minute 5 set quarter final match against Del Potro which finished around 9pm on the Wednesday night. Djokovic had beaten Nishikori in his quarter final in just over two hours earlier on that Wednesday. You’re telling us that Nadal was the one who was was adversely affected by getting hauled off court on the Friday night when he was losing 2-1, that he was going to come back and beat Djokovic, generally accepted as the fittest player on the tour, in 5 if they weren’t pulled off?
