My tournament dark horse Shapovalov playing really well. Demolished the 8th seed Batista Agut in straight sets today.
Hurckacz beats Medvedev in 5 to clinch the last quarter final slot against Federer. Not the biggest shock in the world, Hurkacz is a better player on grass than Medvedev.
Of the so called ‘New Gen’ none of the top 5 standard bearers - Medvedev, Thiem, Tsitsipas, Zverev or Rublev are in the quarter finals.
Medvedev was absolutely shafted here. The game should have been finished last night.
Medvedev wasn’t good enough to beat Hurkacz. He can have no complaints.

Federer has a good chance now of making the semi finals.
An 18th quarter final appearance for 8 times champions Federer and a 12th quarter final appearance for 5 times champion Djokovic. The other 6 are all appearing in their 1st quarter final and none of them are ranked in the Top 8.
As suspected, it’s all about the benjamins with this lady.

Pleased to see my tournament dark horse Shapovalov through to the semi final to face Djokovic. I’d be pretty confident he’ll win a few Championships over the next decade. Where he’s at in the here and now, we’ll see on Friday.
Federer will have his work cut out here agsinst Hurkacz. Hurkacz is a very good grass court player.
