Williams has ruined this moment for Osaka. Her win will always be tainted by Serena hissy fit.

She had been warned a number of times for repeated racquet violations and was correctly forfeited a point after she smashed her racquet when she was broken back in the second set. She called the umpire a thief, a liar, demanded an apology (which she didn’t get) , started to cry then, told the umpire she’d make sure he would never referee another one of her matches, told him men are always doing worse on court but getting away with it, but she’s penalised because she’s a woman. Called him a thief and liar a few more times and had a game forfeited off her, Osaka jumping from 4-3 to 5-3 without hitting a ball.

Do men say worse and get away with it? Twitter is in meltdown :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

Crowd are cunts. Poor Osaka getting upset with the crowd booing.

No player male or female would get away with a verbal outburst like that. Real snowflake carry on.

Poor girl has had her moment stolen by Serena and her antics.

Ruined it for her. Crowd as you said were complete cunts too. I’ve been to the US Open a few times. You’d have more order at a PDC Darts exhibition match. Flushing Meadows is right beside La Guardia airport as well, so you have planes taking off all the time.

Serena’s coach admits to coaching her. Her behaviour was appalling, zero grace.

Serena is the GOAT.

Snowflakes really upset with tonight’s officiating. Twitter is OUTRAGED.

What are they upset about?

Apparently, men get away with that behavior all the time. And also, because the official was a man, he’s bang out of order reprimanding Serena, the great Serena.

Fair play to Carlos Ramos for applying the rules correctly and calling up Miss Williams on her cheating. We’ve seen this type of carry on before from Nadal with Umpire Carlos Bernardes and the same threats from Nadal that he’ll ensure that Bernardes doesn’t referee any more of his matches. Prima donnas who have no respect for their opponent, umpire or the game of tennis and think that they are bigger than the sport.

The decision didn’t affect and/or benefit a man. Her opponent was also a woman. She’s a disgrace to the game and should be ashamed of herself, the worst type of entitled behaviour you could fathom. However she’s one of the sacred cows of the progessive lot and deemed above reproach, the likes of @glasagusban defending her to z’s death. I hope the WTA have the balls to take some action.

Didn’t she tell a judge previously that she’d shove the ball down his throat? I believe this latest tirade warrants a lifetime ban from the WTA tour.

So what? She won. Serena was a pig, but the win can’t be taken from her. She rammed it down the throats of a partisan home crowd and buried Williams in the process, so much so that Williams coach admitted to trying to coach her and Williams herself melted down.

An iconic tennis night that’ll be remembered. Nothing wrong with that.

Prima donnas like this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZB9JfhzLzE

“Stop showing me your hands”
“Don’t tell me to be quiet”
“I don’t give a shit OK”
“Don’t tell me the fucking rules”

It’s the ultimate in brattish behaviour on a tennis court.

First of all this is a bare faced lie, Bernardes still officiates on Nadal’s matches, just two months ago he was the umpire chair for Nadal’s third round match at Wimbledon, doing what he normally does - handing out dubious infractions against Nadal.

Bernardes has a long history of picking on Rafa and making unfavourable calls against him. Bernardes still officiates on Nadal’s games even though Nadal understandably would rather he did not given Bernardes track record.

On a side note. I just saw these quotes from Sam Querrey and others
on why serving is so important on grass and why a big serve alone will allow you to go very far on grass.

Querrey believes that one of the biggest differences between grass and other surfaces is the effectiveness of a big serve.

“If my first serve goes in on grass it’s going to be harder for someone to time it and get it into the court,” he said. “That’s the biggest difference. You get more free points – not necessarily aces, but balls that aren’t coming back in, just because it’s so difficult on grass to return it in time.”

Juan Martin del Potro, who hit 22 aces in his first-round victory over Peter Gojowczyk and now faces another big server in Feliciano Lopez, said that serves and how you perform on break points were the keys to success on grass.

“There could be only one break point during the match and that could be the key,” he said. “If you have a good serve on grass, you can win a lot of matches. Feliciano has a big serve. I am serving well, too, so we will see what will happen.”

Isner said that playing on grass always helped his serve. “But I like my serve in any conditions,” he added. “If we played in mud, I’d like my serve.

“Grass definitely gives it a little bit of an extra boost. It skids through. My big serves in essence feel even bigger when I make it, and it’s shooting through the court. Grass has always been a good servers’ surface, and it’s always been one for me.”

It was like Pearl Harbor all over for poor Osaka last night. A phyrric victory.

This has shocked the snowflakes to the care. @Cicero_Dandi is a bumbling wreck. He’s lashing out now attacking Roger Federer, the fairest and most sporting player on tour, chosen by his fellow professionals for the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship award in 13 of the last 14 years.
