And the olympics and the death star

Is that being touted? Unless he can get a move to France surely more money in NRL

He was asked in a recent interview and said heā€™d be interested. His idol is Dan Carter.

Similar money for a top tier Wallaby.

I can see the NRL doing everything they can to stop him going like they did with Joey Johns (although rugby just decided not to go through with him once they discovered he was a pill head).

Heā€™s also a massive United and Ronaldo fan but he wonā€™t be togging out for the PL

Canā€™t see him going to union. Doubt ARU have the dough needed either.

A bit different.

Rugby Australia are paying a lot more for Joseph Suaā€™aliā€™i, they have the money.

Theyā€™re broke. Barely able be afford hosting world cup and lions.

Theyā€™ve blown their wad on a winger (may end up at 13) when itā€™s grassroots they need to invest in.

Young fella from Clontarf went down there and after getting a contract for Qld. Could see more like it

They have money for the World Cup. They will likely sign Angus Chrichton in the next few weeks.

Heā€™s not the saviour they need

Who? Either way, they have the cash.

Angus Chrichton

All the talk I hear is they are broke with a game free to air networks wonā€™t even show for free down there.

Free to air show more rugby now than 20 years ago.

They have enough cash to fund big signings still. In the case of Andrew Forrest and the Force, he can fund any rugby player on the planet if Rugby Australia authorise it.

What they really need is to start bringing All Blacks over to Australian Super Rugby teams along with more Pacific players.

So why are they talking about folding the brumbies?

Where was Forrestā€™s money to keep the Force going?

What leaguie has come across and had the impact on the pitch to justify the pay? Tiquiri perhaps? A young winger from eastern suburbs isnā€™t going to be able to turn the tide of shit happening with the ARU

Forrest didnā€™t have a say. He kept them going once kicked out.

The calls to reduce Super Rugby teams largely comes from NZ as they have no concept of making an even concept. The NZ Super a rugby teams need to share the talent out and stop treating Super Rugby as a development tournament. That is going to happen as there needs to be a 12 team competition ZC

In terms of Crichton, he is hardly a saviour but will be a good player going back to rugby. Suaā€™aliā€™i will he a superstar- he is the greatest schoolboy rugby player of the last 20 years and will be a 13 or 15. Remember that these are not like some of the 2000s converts- they grew up playing rugby. The only reason Suaā€™allā€™i ending up in the NRL is because rugby wouldnā€™t pay him at 18.

Cleary would be more of a punt for sure but the roundabout point is that they can afford him.

Iā€™d say heā€™d regret it when heā€™s playing in front of an empty stadium for the Waratahs

They already do. To Japan and their own counties. NPC is the comp the kiwis love and, have to say, I admire their approach. Theyā€™ll never be short of a domestic comp and have never fully warmed to Super rugby comp.

Saffers have been very clever. Provinces compete in Europe in higher calibre and financiallyb rewarding comp and then national team compete against SH. Wily move out of them.

Saffers brought in the bucks in trinations TV revenue Heading north theyā€™ll swell their kitty further while simultaneously weakening ARUs income.

Less money, no domestic comp, waning support, rival sports continuing to provide better entertainment and ignored by media all paired with the least inspiring generation of players in recent memory means Aussie rugby is a beaten docket

If Aussie success depends on scouting in kiwis and leaguies to generate competitiveness and viewership, shows theyā€™re only prolonging their descent

Possibly though half the NRL games in Sydney are the same.

No they donā€™t. They will not pick All Blacks who play abroad.

It is moronic in the context of Super Rugby. Both Australia and NZ have centrally controlled national sides that can give the players as much R&R as needed.

NZ need markets like Melbourne and Perth to succeed, not flounder.
