According to the app recommended above, the temp here drops below freezing this evening, and doesn’t seem to rise above freezing until beyond a week. :flushed:

Listen fellas, Met Eireann provide a free weather forecasting service,
They usually have it right because they are the experts with access to all the best data, instruments etc etc.

We can forget now about the prediction made here before the New year that we’d have six weeks of snow from the beginning of January,

You’ve nearly strangled yourself over the fact I’ve an interest in long range forecasting.

I haven’t at all, I tried to have a conversation with you while pointing out that I’m a sceptic, you don’t need to be so confrontational about everything, you ignored all my queries for some reason, but then every time there’s a threat of snow you seem to think you’ve one over on me and start tagging me,
the prediction you made of six weeks of snow beginning early January was wide of the mark but I haven’t been to the forefront of pointing it out.

You should try to chill out a bit rather than spending your days spoiling for a row, can’t be good for u

How’s she cutting Buddy?

Good pal, how are ye coping with the home schooling?

Carlow Weather on Twitter: “My word! The 18z GFS update barely has any breakdown in cold before another real blast of cold air arrives from the East. That is a huge change in what was been forecast and needs watching👀 https://t.co/yVtIFDTUss” / Twitter

@TreatyStones can you translate?

Get your big coat.

Big boy pants.

That’s an old tweet but basically it was originally expected that milder weather from the south/west would move up across the country, but now it’s like that mild weather could be pushed out again by further cold weather from the east. There’s a couple of very big cold weather systems showing up on the long range charts at the moment, but it would be still be very much up in the air.

At the moment it’s looking like we should get a good shot of snow across the country (mainly south east & east with places in the west possible getting nothing) on Thursday, before the mild weather sneaks up on Saturday/Sunday before being pushed out by further cold weather from the east again at the start of next week.

Just started snowing here in the capital.

I might stock up on groceries this evening and hunker down for the week.

Good one

Will limerick and north Tipp get any snow?

It’s border line at the moment. North Tipp would have a better chance than Limerick.

Had my third Sunday run in a row with snow showers yesterday. But the wind was something fierce. At one stage it sounded as if a motorbike was about to drive into my face.

Not quite snow, but more frozen rain falling here most of the morning. 6 weeks of this will be tough
