🌬 The Weather Thread part 2

How did ye beat in the final? Callan won 1982 and we had 3 on the 1984 county team.

That seemed to be a theme in 2011.

Before each of the Dublin v Donegal, Kilkenny v Tipp and Dublin v Kerry games it pissed rain about 40 minutes to an hour beforehand, then cleared up.

Nore valley or Nire valley?

I cleaned Power the same day.

How long are you in for and how did you smuggle in the smartphone?

The 1983 final was wet and stormy. The very worst rain at a big match was the 1995 Leinster Final. The 1998 Munster Final replay was very wet. My self and Powery got soaked. It really favoured the mullockers from Clare. The 1985 All Ireland semi final between Galway and Cork was also played in a downpour. The Limerick Kilkenny final of 1973 was wet wet wet.

Kilkenny v Limerick 2014 had awful rain.

I stand corrected. Delighted you kept Power in your pocket. He turned out to be a right bollix in the end.

I knew John fairly well all the way up. He split me at U14 and I was always wary of him after that. I think he was a year younger which probably explains Locke’s win the year after. He was always friendly to me after the few times I met him.

He married a Thomastown neighbour after. But I was gone by then.

1982 was very wet as well the day Skehan ate the apple

@habanerocat I’ll try and get up for a pint on Sunday. Glorious evening here now, but pretty breezy.

A thunder storm just skirted us as we were setting up so we got very lucky. Could see and hear it off in the distance.

At the other end of that road to The Bridge is Ennisnag Lounge. Used be a lively spot years ago but the driving ruined it. You’re only a small bit then from Kells (the pub where they filmed The Riordans) and Stoneyfort. Although I never stopped in Stoney in my life.
