I’m pretty sure that you can’t have one without the other, the lightning can be blocked by heavy cloud cover, maybe the sound doesn’t travel as well as the light?
Great entertainment a good thunder and lightning storm. Ideally with torrential rain

we get so many on the continent there’s an app that shows you where the storms are.
You get a much better class of storm on the mainland

No but I got Thunderhail when i was out on the bike last week.

Biblical rain here in Limerick now, the missus advises me that we are in the middle of a low which means very unsettled weather and heavy showers for the sporting weekend coming up.
Unbelievable rain has fallen the last 18 hrs. Funnily enough forecasters predict 2 fine days tomorrow and Sunday.
