New York?
Can’t say I’ve ever heard of it. Is it one of those hick cities down south?
What was wrong with Old York?
Never heard of it.
On an evening like this I wish for nothing more than to be enjoying a relaxing game of snooker. The easy clink of the balls, the muffled shuffle as they make their way through the pockets. Drop onto a red, a well judged positional shot on the black satisfies the senses. The pitter patter on the windows provides a charmingly timeless ambience.
Look down below as the pedestrians hurriedly scramble around the streams of rain and the ever growing puddles. Back to their artisan’s cottages with them. Back to their poorly built cardboard apartments with a balcony not fit to park a penny farthing. Back to their suburban two up, two down mundanity.
The din of the traffic in the distance, the soothing hum, massaging the senses. Take a flavoursome drag of a cigarette, look out into the gloom, look across the black rooftops shiny with rain, the smoke billowing into the dark evening sky. Breathe it in, and breathe out.
But you can’t smoke anymore, and all the snooker clubs are closed down. Ruining cunts
Noticeably colder in Galway this weekend
Making some serious rain now, time to be getting out the waterproofs
an excellent piece of prose there Sid
I suppose the long term health of the nation comes in a poor second to your senses being stimiulated when it’s raining.
Windscreen frosted over and thick fog this morning. Winter has set in.
A light chill in the air in South Fingal this morning also.
Ah its grand and fresh though. Great weather.
+1
A powerful day out there.
I never complained about the weather. I just said Winter had set.
There was a big difference between the weather when I got up Dunph and by the time you were hoisted out of bed for your jumbo breakfast roll.
I don’t need a hoist to get out of bed… yet…
No fog here but it was cold alright doesn’t seem to be as warm as yesterday but a great day
My favourite type of weather this dry but with a bit of a bite in the air. Very refreshing when you go out in it. Going to have my first Guinness in three months or so tonight to celebrate having given it up with the warmer weather
It’s pissing rain in Dublin and I just got soaked.
Nice and crisp in Cork, rain gone again for a few days it seems.
