The Weirdo Thread

What? An experience from 13 years ago? I probably would have.

I would consider myself much more mellow now generally anyway. Like @Juhniallio sometimes a post really grinds on you and you have to respond but the key is to know when to stop. Unlike many on here I would suggest, I am not nor ever have been on any other fora with any degree of regularity so it took me some time to cop on to the strange workings of such places.

I meant in your dealing with the bicycle salesman,

I know you regret your actions pal, its ok, the drink n drugs do terrible things to a mans mind. We’re still bessiers on the internet.

Apologies for dragging this up @farmerinthecity and @Juhniallio. I’d consider both of you to be relatively mild mannered and sensible posters, so I was looking at the old post more as a sign of how ye had matured in interim. I didn’t mean to cause any harm.

Its amazing to see old posts and realise how much people have grown. How they’ve let go of the hate and animosity that was choking their hearts.

You are all neat guys.

Fuck you. You cunt.

Early on I used to think that it was possible to change the mind of a random person behind a keyboard somewhere by the power of the written argument.

I believed at some level that a point would come where the poster would say ‘You know what? You’re right and I’m wrong’.

That of course doesn’t exist. What happens instead is that you get four or five posts in, realise the pointlessness of the exercise yet hold on as you don’t want to lose perceived face which would happen by withdrawing. Sometimes you end up arguing about something you don’t care about or never meant to argue about in the first place.

It’s a bit like the Americans in Vietnam – how to make a somewhat dignified exit where the best option was not to get involved in the first place.

I think you’re wrong there…

Can you update us in general as to how things are going for Mr. Reid? My last post indicates that they are not so good.

That article is just munbo-jombo to me. Did he have to sell any land after? Is he still eating bananas? Did he fix up his teeth any bit at all?

Thanks.
