The Wire

Probably common knowledge here but Robert F. Colesberry, one of the co-creators of the show, also played Ray Cole.

Colesberry passed away shortly after directing the final episode of season 2. They wrote Cole’s death (on the stairmaster) into early season 3. His wake is the first appearance (I think) of Body of an American

Who was responsible for unearthing body of an American?

Didn’t know that. Jay the fat man gave a great eulogy over the pool table.

Then we turned and shook, as we had a look
In the room where the dead man lay

I have all five series bought through Amazon and have to stream them through the Amazon site and it gives all kinds of random trivia on each episode.

I only found out that nugget the other week. The actor who plays Daniels initially auditioned for the role of Bubbles

Yeah was just watching the episode. Apparently they agonised over every shot cos they wanted to get it right as a tribute to Colesberry. He was a producer on a load of films - King of Comedy, Mississippi Burning, etc

Some tune. Have it at full pelt on the headphones here, beating the sole of my foot off the floor with the beat

Run, Sodomy and The Lash is surely the greatest Irish album of all time @Big_Dan_Campbell?

I am looking forward to milling into a bottle of whiskey and kicking back to a night of the pogues music over the Christmas

No chance

If I Should Fall… is a better album.

Yeah there’s a big thing up on YouTube about all the different roles some of the actors tried out for. Think the Daniels lad tried for three different ones :joy:

Here ya go @Big_Dan_Campbell

Red Roses for me is the best Pogues album imo. RSL second and IISFFGWG third.

Rhonda loved a bit of Mickey in fairness to her
