There was a posh tan cunt from Cheltenham on Drive Time Wed evening saying thankfully weāre going ahead tomorrow but unfortunately Aintree looks to be in doubt. When he was quizzed he said the medical experts say itās fine. There will be repercussions for their arrogant attitude.

In all seriousness, I think the Irish who went over to Cheltenham were arseholes and detached from reality, but it was up to the Government to give the clear message that they should not go. The Government didnāt do that. It was up to the horsey people organising Cheltenham to act responsibly and cancel the event. Same with the organisers of Liverpool v Atletico Madrid. But the UK Government did not act responsibly and step in to tell the organisers to cancel the events, so in a way you can hardly blame the organisers.
Effective top down regulation is essential in this situation because otherwise people will take advantage when they know in their heart of hearts they probably shouldnāt.
Self regulation doesnāt work. Yet ironically it has proved more effective than Government regulation in this case. The weight of public opinion has forced organisers to self regulate and cancel events, so itās basically regulation by public opinion.
Itās pretty damning on the UK Government (and to a lesser extent the Irish Government) response that regulation by public opinion has actually proved far more effective than government regulation in this case, but of course the UK Government is run by a bunch of ābonfire of regulationsā crackpots, so it isnāt at all surprising.

Solid performance from the US government at itās latest press conference earlier. Even CNN have little to bitch about, a good sign. Markets calmed down a bit as well.
The less Trump speaks and the more the experts speak the better obviously.

At least they are acting. I think the timing is shocking and some decisions are absolutely negligent but they are doing something
