Thefreekick pool school

The first in a series of instructive videos to be prepared by Rocko and Bandage on the trips to Glasgow.

Lesson One: the plant - Bandage is on yellow but unfortunately has found himself out of position after a spot of dirt on the felt affected the natural course of the cue ball. Keeping in mind the high quality of opponent (Rocko) he knows a safety shot will probably not be enough to keep him in the frame. So he lines up a lovely plant for himself and frees up the same pocket for both yellow and black later in the frame.

I don’t think the difficulty of the shot I played is fully apparent in that video. We all know the plant is a tough shot at the best of times but the distance between the two yellows in this case made it a truly outstanding piece of pool playing. The other thing this video fails to pick up is where the white ended - perfectly on another yellow up at the far end of the table.
