Below is a stunning opening post by new member @Tonymac as a rebuttal to various points made by Ulster football expert @Nembo Kid who was dismissive in various posts of Roscommon football. It’s the level of detail, rationale and effort which is most pleasing more than anything else. The lack of playing the man rather than the ball is a small negative but i’m sure over time he will evolve to be able to trade insults with other members here and straight away i can tell he has huge promise as a new poster here on this website. Other new users take note that this is the standard expected around here, as for months now we have had pond life joining and then spamming the board with their nonsensical drivel, with the exception of @Chucks Nwoko who has been another pleasing addition.
Roscommon are also a county you seem to dislike, well thats what i get from reading over past posts from you. Any reason for this a bad pint once in Roscommon or ex girl friend from there?
In early April 2010 Roscommon seniors were relegated to Div 4 after just one win in div 3, one week later Roscommon won their first Connacht U-21 title for 11 years and since then Roscommon have won another three Connacht U21 titles. Without that success and talent coming through at U-21 level Roscommon would not have risen from div 4 to now div 1 at senior level.
Without the use of google i would seriously wonder could you even name five Roscommon players.
Yes defended poorly but would be fairly new to the packed defence tactics anyway you are talking away from how well Armagh played that day and indeed that summer. Armagh also beat Tyrone away,Meath in Croke park and got within inches of beating the All Ireland finalist and Ulster champions Donegal.
I’m sure Mayo in 2010 or Galway 2007,2010 and 2012 also thought they had safe passage before losing to Sligo.
I expect Mayo to beat Galway again and if Roscommon are to reach and lose the Connacht final it would be no disaster as after all the final would be in MacHale Park Castlebar and Mayo are top 5 experienced and seasoned side. If its Galway well they would also be at home and be hot favourites having beaten Mayo no so disaster to lose that game either. Roscommon would then have to play a round 4 qualifier against one of the B side winners which could likely be the loser of todays Ulster game between Donegal,Tyrone who like Mayo are high ranked sides.
The fact is Roscommon senior football team are a young improving side that has only just got promoted to Div one this spring after spending over a decade down in Div3,4. The potential is there now to improve further however what happens over the next 2 or 3 years will tell me where Roscommon stand at senior level more than anything that may happen this summer.
One swallow doesn’t make a summer but I’m in agreement with the remainder of your post.
Regarding the above, @Nembo Kid is a lot like Omar Little. @Tonymac you come at the king, you best not miss.

You clearly haven’t been around here long… Tony Mc could hit him umpteen times and the other fella will just keep arguing the same moot point- it’s horrendous.

Nembo is nothing like omar, more like namonds mother
You don’t seem to understand debating, I stick to the subject matter, if you wish to digress into other things which bear no relevance, be my guest but my stance is impregnable. I back it up, I am the fiercest debater this board, I fight off all corners and I do it by myself. I’d imagine I must be awe-inspiring for the average poster. The gap between me and my adversaries widens all the time.

You move the goal posts back- then you move them forward again and repeat and repeat, mate. I don’t think i’ve ever seen you triumph in any of the pointless debates you get yourself into.
For example, your main point earlier in the week about gay marriage was that marriage should be between men and women solely on the grounds that it takes a man and a woman to have children, when I then asked you are you against marriage for men and women who can’t have or don’t want children your answer was ‘marriage is between man and woman’ no explanation or engagement- you then flipped back to the creating children line and then flipped back to marriage is between ‘man and woman’ once more without giving any real answers - that’s not debating, pal. That’s refusing point blank to engage and just throwing out the same statements over and over without backing them up… That’s called bitterness, something you are full of.

You are showing a complete lack of understanding here. Do you not get that it takes a man and a woman to create a child? My stance is perfectly linked together, you’re arguing against mother nature.
You said specifically that marriage is based on having children and having children only - I then asked a simple question as to whether you are against marriage for straight men and women who can’t have children or don’t want children, of which you won’t answer. Mother nature doesn’t exist, mate- and if she does exist she also created homosexuals, homosexuals that have been around since the creation of the species, why now , by letting two men or women express their love for each other and by having that love protected by the law and state, are homosexuals a threat to mother nature, straight marriage or life in general? What can two men or women getting married do to threaten any of that??
Mother nature ? What does that even mean?.. there have always been homosexuals and that hasn’t threatened Mother nature or the natural order, how will it affect either now if homosexuals say the words ‘I Do’?
Excellent post by @Tonymac - only negatives being a failure to use a TFK expression like “I’ve mugged you off pal, mugged you off good and proper” and also a failure to call the poster he had a conflicting view with a cunt.
