Our altar is point South
The altar in the next parish over is pointing west.
Thatās rare enough supposedly - now - this is information I gleaned from a book written by a local lad here so Iām not going to stand over it with any conviction but north-south orientation is rare enough.
Yeād have to be different out there alright
Another design feature is Catholic churches are typically in the shape.of a crucifix. Anglican/Protestant are not.
How does a rectangular object point anywhere?
when the priest is saying mass the direction he is facing when addressing the congregation is where it points.
In Ballygunner thatās north. In Sutton itās south. Iād say this is some owl piseog that @EstebanSexface has been codded by.
North also in Howth.
Youād have to wonder has @EstebanSexface ever been inside a church. Absolute clanger from him.
Youāre missing the point completelyā¦
St Josephs in Limerick points North.
Foynes points South
Ballysteen points west
You a man of the cloth?
West in our Church on the peninsnula.
@Fagan_ODowd - Iām going to have a word with Eddie Tucker for facilitating me making a mug out of myself
Apparently the liturgy is supposed to face the rising sun. Seems like the church have compromised on one of their ideals here by building them willy nilly
Heās an alterboy thatās in high demand.
Loghill North, Borrigone South, Kilcornan South, Kildimo North. I think what we can conclusively say is that Church alters face the direction of the road
The altar faces east in Kilmallock and also in Ballingaddy. We do things the right way.
Borrigone is West, it faces towards Foynes
@EstebanSexface needs a rebrand after this.
@estebaneastface
Iām comfortable being wrong. I learned a thing, unlearned and learned new things.
