Things I learned today (Part 1)

The altar in Oola faces south west, ditto the one in Templebraden. St Michaelā€™s in Tipp Town seems west facing. The altar in Knicker does point east though

Cathedral in Waterford - west. St Patrickā€™s - North. St Johnā€™s North West. Ballybricken North. Holy Family East. St Paulā€™s North. The Folly South. St Joseph and Benildus South.

Iā€™ve been mugged off by the Catholic Church.

Mugged off good and proper. Does the holy see post here? They came up with a brand new phrase ā€œliturgical eastā€ to avoid having to build churches oriented according to their scripture when it didnā€™t suit.

Heathens

The next time I bump in to Eddie Iā€™ll have a very interesting conversation about rigour

Pity for him the rest of the team is gone to shite

East orientation means the altar is at the eastern end of the church. Plenty examples where it does not.

Dec Ng east for a grave means the grave dug east-west with the foot of the coffin at the eastern end.

Some bunch of heathens

Cristiano Ronaldo - Penalty goals | Transfermarkt

They have made a few strange loan signings. Chiesa from Fiorentina and an American guy from Schalke. I presume there are financial reasons why they are not buying them outright - in particular Chiesa.

Ah lad.

Omfg :scream:

So I was in specsavers today. Hadnā€™t had an eye test in about three years. Anyways they now have some new fandango of a test that more or less takes a picture of all the shit that goes on at the back of the eyes.
After it she says to me that there was a few bits and pieces that were showing up thinner then normal. Then she asked me if I had had chemo recently. Told her the score and she was able to trace it back to that.

Scary shit

M&Ms were created by Mars in 1941 as a way of allowing American soldiers in WWII carry a chocolate snack that wouldnā€™t melt. The product was first sold exclusively to the US Army for the duration of the war.

I listened to a business wars podcast recently about Mars and Hersheyā€™s, apparently the guy who came up with m and mā€™s was frank mars troublesome son who went to Europe during the 1930ā€™s to start his own candy empire and whilst in England he came across a sweet maker called roundtree who made smarties so he basically copied their concept
