I learned that Yiddish is part of the Germanic language family - German, English, Dutch, Yiddish , Afrikaans.

It developed in the 8th century in central Europe. It’s fucked up insofar as to think that the 20th/21st century descendants of 8th century Jews in Europe think they have a right to the land they call Israel when they have such long standing roots in Europe.

Anyway I don’t know how I landed on that… I went down a rabbit hole reading about the Franks and ending up reading about the ethnology of Frankish languages … It seems the Franks came out if Belgium/Holland , ruled modern France / Germany and down to Modern Barcelona… Yet modern German speakers laugh at Dutch as a poor version of German when it seems the language was spawned there …

Ah fuck off Brady you boring cunt.

Because of his musical preferences in the Irish Times today, or otherwise? He seems likeable enough sort and supposedly is very capable.
Not exactly a subtle PR move by the spin doctors when he is about to unleash a bunch of pain on the PAYE employee.

Ireland was covered in ice for the most part so who knows when humans were first here… interestingly, castleconnel in Limerick had previously been the site of the earliest human evidence on the island… But if they were as far as modern Clare some 2,500 years earlier we have to assume humans were in the east of the country much earlier again.
