The edge was deffo gone off the Whiskey - Greenspot, half bottle - originally opened late Novemeber. But I just drink it neat these days where I was a 1 cube man. There is some etiquette around water releasing more flavour or something like that?
Have you tried many Scottish brews? I had Jura there a while back and it required Ice - very sharp and peaty but really enjoyable once you acclimatize

Multiple variations. Puke’s addenda of cloves and lemons and honey and other ancillaries would apply to the noble practise of drinking hot toddies for medicinal purposes.
In wintertime it’s advisable to commence the hot toddie process on Nov 1st to ward off flu and other seasonal malaises and continue the process daily until Easter Sunday.
