A rabona is different to a Ra boner which much of this forum had for the first nine years of its existence, epitomised by the TFKIFSCPIRA brigade.

There’s two Patrickwells in Limerick. One in well, Patrickswell and another near Lough Gur, where Jon Kenny was buried today.

Pat was a thirsty cunt so

Possibly.

There is of course a well in Patrickswell.
Could this be the well in the other Patrickswell?

I never heard or saw a well with a roof before?

Jon Kenny died recently.

I’d hazard a guess that the Well was there first and somebody might have built that structure over it.

I was half expecting somebody to come back and tell me that wells do have roofs. Wishing wells for instance. I suppose it stops leaves and other shit falling into them. Lots of wells in Ireland were converted to manual pumps which also kept the water clean. The one in Patrickswell used have a pump, but I see that’s gone now. You wouldn’t see many old hand pumps these days.

Running fountains also kept the water clean. We had a few fountains locally in kk. Here’s Stroan fountain in Tullaherin. A fine job once they cleaned it up lately.

I can just about remember drawing water from that in an ass and cart many moons ago…

Caught up in your wishing well
Your hopes inside it
Take your love and promises
And make them last
You make them last (make them last, make them last)
