The Pale actually had a boundary ditch to mark itâs outer limits to prevent cattle raids from the Gaelic Irish. Parts of this can still be seen today in Sandyford, Ballyogan and between Clane and Sallins.

TFI have introduced 40 new bus services this year and have another 22 on the way before the end of the year. Thatâs fantastic work.
The bus service to our town has increased significantly. I had to get it about 3 years ago and Iâd say I was the only paying customer and a handful of auld wans on the free travel.
Now, thanks to new buses with proper scheduling thereâs a early bus which gets to Limerick city by 8:30 and supposedly itâs full most mornings. Usually a decent crowd waiting at the bus stop for the 9:30 bus as well.
The service in Limerick city has also improved.
And the map tracking keeps you invested while you wait for it to turn up.
Most of those buses are outside dublin too. Greens doing things even for the people who hate themâŚ
huh?
Positive opinions on all the new bus routes pal
Hopper reckons itâs the only country in Europe where youâd genuinely ask âwhat time is the 830 bus at?â And get a genuine answer**
** Never 830
Hopper a bit of a comedian is he?
We used to dare each other to go in to Michael and Julia Connollyâs sweet shop and ask Michael how much the penny sweets were. Michael had a notorious temper. Michael tired of this one day and dragged me across the shop counter by the collar of my shirt, gave me a kick in the arse and told me to stay out of his shop til tomorrow.
Hopper asked yesterday could he leave school before study to work on his project. I asked what her name was. He said he couldnât comment.
I used get the Galway - Limerick bus out of Oranmore a good bit. It would always be at least an hour and a half late, but youâd be afraid of being late for it as the next one would be God knows when and could be full.
