That black rappers drinking Hennessy isn’t just a modern trend. The Hennessy company has been associated with African Americans since the 1890s when they setup a charity to support them in New York. They were also one of the first luxury brands to market directly to the African American community and to have black board members.

There is no county in England called Yorkshire

For the first time in the history of English top-flight football, four different teams have now gone eight games into a season without a single win.

Wolves, Ipswich, Southampton and Crystal Palace are all still seeking their first victory

No administrative county, no. I know lads from Barnsley who will still consider the four modern day Yorks counties (and the other administrative bits) as just one big old traditional ‘Yorkshire’.

One could also say there is no county called ‘Dublin’ anymore, as it has been superseded at local government level by Fingal, Dublin City, South Dublin and Dun Laoighre-Rathdown. But Dublin as a county still exists in a traditional sense through people’s sense of belonging, sports teams etc. Of which the same can be said for Yorkshire (cricket, accent, etc).

Yorkshire would be perceived by Yorkshire folk and having a north/south divide like Dublin, but the other way round.
Barnsley folk just generally think they are from Barnsley in the country of Barnsley.

Something id like to learn. How do you change settings to stop getting an alert everytime something is posted in a thread?

Go to bottom left of page. Change to normal from ‘watching’ ‘tracking’.
