I’d say ‘southern Taytos’ are much nicer. Quite different taste to each other. We have the ‘Nordie Taytos’ in a vending machine at work.
The Republic ones are the originals. The other crowd licensed the name and the mascot a few years later.

I think southern Tayto’s are a bit saltier in taste for the cheese and onion ones? Mind you, I haven’t had the northern ones in ages.
Southern ones are way nicer.
