SFX
Sounds so cutting edge and it turns out it stands for Saint Francis Xavier.

Saw Nick Cave followed by My Bloody Valentine there on successive nights in 1992.

Wow. That’s pretty impressive.
Yeah, middle of the week as well. Think Nick Cave was on a Wednesday and MBV the following night. Had exams both mornings after but was fit for anything thanks to the gorgeous indie chick from Galway that was the girlfriend at the time.
Wonder whatever became of her. Filthy she was, which was rare in 1992!

That would have been right in the middle of Nick’s and MBV’s golden period. Nick would have released The Good Son in 1990 which remains one of my top 5 favourite albums and was in the process of releasing Henry’s Dream in 1992 which is almost as good. MBV would have had Loveless obviously.
Where is SFX anyway? Drumcondra?
Jaysus the SFX…saw Portishead there back in '95 when they were at the top of their game… Dummy is one of the best albums ever.

Same as the Top Hat. They turned it into The Fun Factory when I was a nipper. Great place to go wild for a couple of hours after school. Now it’s apartments.

Gary Kirby’s fingers.
