Things that are right

CCHA told me you are a very presentable young man.

High praise…If only he could broker a peace deal with SLR… @Joe Player has become good mates with SLR actually, they’ve had some great hurling chats in Mary I library

?

Joe sure gets around.

Jimmy Magees commentary on John Treacys silver medal in LA. On reeling in the years there. A thing of beauty.

Kevin Hennessys goal in the 84 final. One of the most perfect pieces of opportunism you’ll ever see.

Seanie Learys finish at 12m is an astounding piece of skill as well.

Very similar to Patrick Horgan’s in the semi against dublin last year. Was the football played in thurles too that year Fagan?

No.

@farmerinthecity is correct here. The 84 football final was played in Croke Park and Kerry dispatched Dublin with relative ease, to win the first of a three in a row to follow the 4 in a row they landed in 1981.

jesus, it’s amazing to look back at that and wonder how did lads like Seanie hurl back then carrying that much weight. You nearly wouldn’t get near a junior team now like that.
Such a different game to what is played now, much more open, and some lovely first time pulling on the ball on the ground… that has almost disappeared from the modern game… more’s the pity…

Most teams can carry a luxury player. O’Leary, for all his “bulk” was a fast, intuative inside stick-man, who’s snout always honed on to the trough…

Bank of Ireland mugging off idiots by running a competition where the prize is a pair of rugby tickets - no teams or competition mentioned. I fucking hope it’s tag.

Whack away Art, whack away.

Croke Park today was the third major sporting event I’ve attended for free in the last six weeks. That doesn’t quite beat my run in August 2010 when I scored two free tickets to every match in Croke Park for that whole month, but it’s welcome nonetheless.
