It’s Christmas after all

I’ve only looked at today’s post that included a Christmas card from my uncle in Newbridge. His familiar scrawly penmanship was evidenced.
Fuck me says I, he’s ancient at this stage. I had a root around in old memorabilia and found an aul’ “diary” of the Super Boxty (1863-1957). In it he has written:
Son Thomas born 15/04/1915 - a fine Spring day and a healthy boy…
He’ll be the 100 next year please God. Jesus, those old people were great…He had records of weddings, funerals, cows coming a-bulling, suspicious activities by locals…

Boxty, I will have to hunt you down if you do not write that book…

Now that’s a blast from the past. Think there is a copy of that back in balbec towers. Did not realise that Robbie Robertson was the producer.

:clap:My favourite Christy album

is that a death notice?
RIP

That’s a super album.
Faithful Departed and All I Remember are two of his best.

No Mickee, though I’d suggest Sylvie would be a bit worst for wear this week after Gort won the Galway championship on Sunday.

I drove through there on Sunday night and stopped off for an hour. There lads wired up on cheap chemical lagers doing all-sorts. No one was safe.

i note its the nutri brothers that populate this thread and its the nutri botherers that populate the things that are wrong thread

Is Gort the home of Supermacs or was it Ballinasloe?

Ballinasloe

Gort would have been an early adopter though

Getting taken out for a late lunch shortly. I won’t be back. :pint::pint::pint:
