Soothing

Who needs meditation when you have the shipping forecast

Might be the tan’s greatest achievement

the protocol that needs to be adhered to is outstanding, max 350 words,
The music at the beginning is played every night at the same time - then followed by GSTQ before transitioning to the WS

“And now the Shipping Forecast, issued by the Met Office on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency at 0048 today.”

wow, ive watched this 5 times in a row

I’ve always loved the shipping forecast. I thought I was an oddball.

because i like listening to the shipping forecast?

No generally. That’s just the start of it.

Not from the stars do I my judgment pluck
And yet methinks I have astronomy…

on the met eireann sea area "that we used to listen to as part of geography homework" i notice in recent times a lot of station reports as opposed to the general meteological situation are now given by a the location of a buoy from an automatic in the sea as opposed to say a physical station like Carnsore Point … i must say i find this a little disconcerting

here is the approved format:
Lough Foyle to Carlingford Lough and all the Irish Sea north of Angelsea
NNE 3 or 5
increasing 6 at times
showers
1016
falling slowly

Do you wait for the National Anthem at the end?

Did you ever read Charlie Connelly’s book about it? A decent read.
