Tipp v Limerick matchday thread

Interesting to see what Tipp do next week . They were flat today . There was gaping weaknesses in defence , mediocrity in midfield and a real lack of pace .

Flanagan operated deep for even more than usual today, as we tried to isolate Mulcahy & Gillane inside. It was working, so I can understand why. But as you say, Mulcahy doesn’t put the head down; anytime Gillane did, he was fouled. Flanagan is more likely to go for goal if he’s playing in there.

But it’s probably a horses for courses thing; it worked against Tipp, might be slightly tweaked next time.

I am channelling my inner Church.

I have no comments to add.

There is a real space for a runner there.

Gillane is the the man in form, brilliant in the air and has fantastic feet but doesn’t quite have the burst of power, mayne still injury restricted. Dowling is a similar case but doesn’t have the feet. Hegarty does the running but doesnt get the end result. Downes is a brilliant option under this setup and has the aerial prowess and the power but I don’t think he has the work rate off the ball for Kiely. Nash I have still not been convinced by.

We miss that marquee forward.

Mulcahy gave his best performance today for Limerick in 8 years. Very pleased for him.

Downes or Nash will do wreck given the chance this year

Hayes to midfield for DOD and Dempsey to CF is worth a look.

Ye lads love a few switches.

Like a puzzle!

We are looking for the Harlem Globetrotters set up for Kiely.

Do they still have a Monday program on Chipp fm for championship? It will be well worth a listen tonight

Yes and yes .
