Tipperary GAA 2014

Good start to the year today with a comfortable win for the Senior hurlers against UCC. Great to have the “winners mentality” this early in the year.

Team:

  1. Darren Gleeson
  2. Cathal Barrett
  3. Tossy Hamill
  4. Michael Cahill
  5. Kieran Bergin
  6. Padraic Maher
  7. Conor O’Brien
  8. Ronan Maher
  9. James Woodlock
  10. Denis Maher
  11. Seamus Callanan
  12. Niall O’Meara
  13. Patrick Maher
  14. Paddy Murphy
  15. Jason Forde

Next up are Offaly tomorrow in Moneygall. Presume Eamon O’Shea will ring the changes for that one.

Great to see Ronan Maher getting a run. Great bit of go about him. Dare I say it, potentially better than his brother.

!

who is his brother?! Padraig, Brendan or PatricK?

Was Denis Maher on the panel last year?

Think it was the Munster club final last year where he scored five or six points from play and looked a superstar.

Ronan Maher is Padraic Mahers brother. Corner back on minor team that won AI in 2012 and was Centre back on minors last year. Good prospect.

This is Denis Mahers first year on the panel. Looked a superstar when scoring 5/6 from play against Newtownshandrum in 2009 Munster Club as an 18 year old.

That’s the one I was thinking of. Over four years ago, fucking hell. He was on fire that day, sent them over from every angle and distance. Without having seen him much since I’m surprised that he has not broken into the panel sooner.

Padraic’s brother. Has developed a ton since U-15. Very stylish and has Padraics aggression.

Unsure on Denis Maher. Has the ability but caught a bit for pace on hard ground. Still he’s well worth a try.

Nail on the head. Absolute superstar of schools and underage but fear that lack of pace will do him at senior level.

any idea how niall o`meara did.
That full forward line looks a bit odd all the same assuming that is bonnar maher and paddy murphy is the big lad from the 2010 under 21s?

Another problem Denis Maher has is his inconsistency. He can look like a superstar sometimes and look a bad club player the next

There seems to be a problem with inbreeding in Tipperary given the amount of Mahers doing the rounds.

If people think Denis Maher is the answer to Tipperary’s problems, then we are severely fucked before we start. He’s an average club hurler at best.

Tipp beat Offaly 3-18 to 1-10. Conor Kenny, David Collins and Bubbles with the goals.
U-21 footballers hammered Leitrim yesterday, senior footballers beat Kildare this morning.

Never said he was the answer. Just said he’s worth a try.

What Kildare team was that? Have they two outfits out this season?

Don’t know, Tipp beat Kildare by 1-12 to 0-08 in Newbridge this morning.

Kildare are big users of their Junior side for development but doubt Tipp would play Kildare Juniors at this stage of the game

Hi lads, so am I in? Will ye accept me?
