Fair going by Willie to score thst given he wasn’t hurling.
Heard both teams made about a dozen subs at the break, get the feeling neithers A side played the others by the half time/full time scoreline.
All the shadow boxing finishes this weekend.

Nice bit of experimenting. Not sure about Hamill but haven’t seen him hurl in a while tbf. Good to see Bonnar centre forward
Half back line is strong alright.
Big game for Hamill, Quinn & McCormack. McCormack with the most to gain effectively as Quinn i feel will struggle long term & Hamill will never take over from Barry at FB either.
Of those on the bench, Gallagher & Ronan Maher look the real alternatives to make an impact. Beyond that we really are short imo.
Bench looks weak enough alright. Would have liked to have seen either Brendan Maher or Noel McGrath midfield
I think Breen & Bergin could be hugely effective as a Midfield combo going forward. I honestly believe Brendan Maher is best placed as a defensive player & Noel lacks the discipline and engine for midfield,
I think Barry’s been very steady full back, but with a lack of a natural ‘6’, they may be tempted to try and see can he solve that problem and look at alternatives for full back (Breen been an option also but I think he’s better in either half back line or midfield). John Meagher, providing he stays fit, is definitely an option for one of those central positions. Quinn had a good year with the club; be interesting to see if he can make the step up.
I think Noel’s reading of the game would be good enough that his lack of pace may be covered for at midfield, no harm giving it a go. I’m not sure Breen is a natural midfielder either. He looked a bit lost in the Munster Final last year. Think he should be kept in the backs if possible
Good to see Michael Cahill back also
To be fair to Breen ref looking lost in MF, it was only very early days for him remember. Apparently he is in great form for his college. I think he is going to be a big player for us.
As regards, shoring up the CB position I’d rather see Brendan Maher there than moving Barry out of FB where he has really excelled.
