Barrett was warned earlier in the year for drinking.
He did not drink in the lead up to the Cork game.

I just checked who the Tipp captain is this year. Itās written in the stars. Maher is going to be injured for the final but his team mates will beat Kilkenny. Maher will go full kit and collect Liam McCarthy.
I must say Iām very disappointed with all this stuff thatās unfolding in Tipperary. As a Kilkenny man, but first a GAA man, I appreciate how difficult it is for Tipp to put a couple of All Irelandās back to back, something that Kilkenny were expected to do every couple of years up to recently. However it appears that the pressure is starting to show at this early stage and the performances this year to date have demonstrated the behind the scenes difficulties. I was looking forward to watching Tipp progress this year again considering the opposition is no longer what it was, it would have been a cake walk
