Eddie is a tall man, Kevin would be light enough and around 6ft tall.

That’d be news to Kevin who sniped 3 points off Anthony Daly in’97 Munster final. Dropped by Gaynor for the Down quarter final in Clones, that was the end of his Tipperary career. What a club hurler though, scored very heavily from play for Nenagh for approx. 20 years, he was class. Eddie slightly less, but another great servant to Nenagh

Kevin hurled in the 2013 county final I think he was on the panel in 2014 too.

Didn’t they both play for Naynagh in the Effin Eddie video?

Yes, Eddie I think was captain the year Nenagh won it

Confirmed here at 3 minutes in. Eddie no11, Kevin no 15.

We played Nenagh in a minor hurling semi final in 1989, I think. Sarsfields and Cashel were in the other semi and we thought we got the easier side of the draw, they beat the shit out of us, think Cashel beat them in the final.

We’d some great minor teams around then, won counties in 91 and 92. Kevin was on both and captained Tipp minors to a Munster title in '93. Could never convert to senior titles unfortunately, 8 minors and only 1 senior…

wouldn’t be a pile of football kicked in Nenagh I suspect , how did they get to the final?! end of year , hurling over I suspect

My assumption was that it was a lower grade final

They won a Junior A title back around 2011 too I think.

Fitness & raw doggedness

I’m pretty sure that was a top tier final. Aherlow would be football country.

You’d often get a few non traditional football clubs winning underage counties if they put their mind to it. Thurles Sars won a few minor football finals around 06 when Paudie Maher and Micky Cahill were minor. I doubt they kicked a football after that.

Thurles Sars beat Brackens in the U21A mid final this year. Brackens won the county last year and were expected to challenge again

Kilmallock did something similar, won a minor a championship football - it over 10 years ago I reckon

Thanks, I didn’t know that. I assume Peter Creedon is the driver there. Hopefully they can keep it going. Sars should really be putting out a senior football team. Lots of clubs around them are or were senior in recent years like Loughmore, Moyne, Moycarkey, Brackens and Upperchurch. It’s not as if it area is a football wasteland like further North.

Yeah its a joke they don’t have any adult team at all and they winning an u21a divisional title. Think Creedon has a young lad who’s a good hurler/footballer

Brackens were going for 3 in a row counties in under 21 football this year before Sars beat them.

Paddy Cadell wasn’t allowed play that mid final because he was warming the bench for Tipp the next day. Brackens didn’t put up much of a fuss because they thought they’d win anyway.

Was U21 A final 1992
