Tipperary GAA 2020 - The Famine Is Over - Ireland's Premier Dual County

Devastated in a hurling sense.

He would carry huge respect and be extremely well liked in Sars.

Getting in their excuses early when they lose to the might of DLS, Kilcormac or Ballyhea I see.

Not very nice to be laughing at this.

Hurling means a lot to people in Thurles. I’m sure they’ll rally round him now.

Is it the same knee or the other one?

Same knee and it’s actually the third tear in reality.

It happened originally in July 2018, then last summer when he was trying to come back, he knew there was something wrong, so got it scanned and cruciate was gone again.

And now this.

I’m not sure if you can even operate on the same knee 3 times?

Hopefully they can give it another go

Ray Moran is the only man to fix those. Tough break. There have been players like Colm O Neill who have come back from doing 3. Not insurmountable but the mental side of it is exhausting getting back on the field.

Go away you flute.

You don’t come back the same. Its hit and miss, the first time you do it whether you’ll get back to the same level. The second time, you’re not the same player. The third time? Forget it.

Jesus that is rough. Read that article about him in the Irish Times a few weeks back. That’s a lot of time recovering on the sidelines for a fella who is only 23 or 24.

Seemingly Billy McCarthys cruciate injury was misdiagnosed. Only out for 6 weeks now. He’ll miss the county championship but will be involved with the county set up.

His loss gives Nenagh a chance of upsetting them this weekend. His absence takes a lot of their physicality out of their forwards.

Nenagh are some price.

I think they’ll win this.

I’ll be delighted if that’s the case

The town of Thurles barely attend Sars matches so this is a gross exaggeration. Terrible support base

True story

Thurles would be a hurling town as opposed to a Sars town.

A lot of thurles people would be lukewarm towards Sars probably because they couldn’t make a minor team or whatever and gave it up after. Also the fact Sars are a bit of a golden circle run by a few families and anyone else is an outsider unless you are exceptional.

But they’d still be keen hurling people in the town. To be fair also when Sars won the County in 2005, after 31 years there was a huge crowd from Thurles in attendance.

Should there be 2 senior clubs in a town of that size and its tradition ??

How are the Gaels doing these days?
