A lot of clubs in Tipp have âaddendumsâ (Not really sure if there is a proper word for it? Moniker? Theyâre not really nicknames) Ăire Ăgs, Sarsfields, Kickhams, King Cormacs, Swans, Kenyons, Roverseses etc.
Not sure if theyâre an outlier that way, Limerick wouldnât half as many - usually instead the club has a title that doesnât include the name of the place.
Edit: âSuffixâ. Thatâs the word I was looking for.
A lot of them clubs would have been combined in the 1930s or 40s. Eire Og, Kickhams and Clonoulty/Rossmore all had split teams before the one club per parish became common place then.
