Popped in to Dundrum to see the Junior B County Semi Final earlier cc @StoneCold
Thurles Sars v Solohead. Sars were like Brazil 1970 in the first half such was their touch, movement and interplay. Its a very strong Sars outfit for a D team with a lot of former Seniors or Inters involved and excellently drilled by the larger than life Redser OâGrady.
Lar Corbett was very much the creator rather than the scorer as they raced in to a big lead early on. After scoring a point himself after around 25 mins, he signalled to his old pal Redser that he needed to come off pointing to a tight hamstring to laughter and applause from the hugely knowledgeable crowd in attendance.
Sars could go all the way in Killeedy if they maintain this form and keep everyone fit.
The players team holiday fund would be a more worthy recipient.
Shurâ the county board must be rowling in money with Magnier handing out farms of land to them and an avalanche of goodwill after their tremendous efforts earlier this yearâŚ.
He has lads back hurling who had it long packed in. They had 33 named on the programme today which considering its their 4th team and they used 27 in Senior A this year, is some going. Must have close to 100 adult players in the Club with a County U17 A winning team with Murray and Rossiter coming in next year.
Elsewhere Holycross beat Moycarkey 3-22 to 3-14 in the Mid U21 A Semi Final. That might be the toughest game they get all year at this level as their underage dominance continues.
This is a good question for the GAA experts on this forum
Have twinâs ever faced each other in a county final before?
Its happening in Tipp this coming weekend in the Junior B Hurling Final.
Silvermines native David Keogh will be lining out for Thurles Sarsfields and he faces his twin brother Danny (and older brother Willie) who are lining out for Silvermines.
Has there ever been a greater case of proving doubters wrong in inter county hurling history? (Many of these doubters being Tipperary people including myself, of course.)
Himself and Cahill have buried that hatchet and Cahill did a full sit-down interview with him in the spring. And Brophy took part in the Quid Game Fundraiser thing at the weekend.
It was a legitimate question he asked Cahill too at the time. Pretty much everyone in local media tore shreds off the set-up in 2024 so it would be unfair to single out one over anyone else.
