And only had to play cork and mayo
Itâs easy to say with hindsight but youâd wonder should Noel have gone last year?
Looks like thatâs probably it for him now and not the nicest way to bow out. He got a decent reception going off to be fair but bowing out as an AI champion last year would have been fitting for his career.
I suppose thereâs no sympathy in this game for anyone, as they say.
I doubt itâll bother him, lads woulda been saying he shoulda retired 2 or 3 years ago. Those lads gave him a golden year last year, he probably felt he owed them another one. Nothing lost in the playing of it, his legacy is set
Donât think Noel has the ego to be applauded off on his swansong
He has 4 all irelands won. Multiple All stars. No more worlds to conquer. However you cant put a price on your children witnessing you still togging out. Seeing work that goes in. Striving to be the best you can be. They having a fleeting memory of you in a big game, Iâm sure isnt lost on Noel.
Probably saw the last of Noel and TJ today. 2 glittering careers and great servants of the game.
Minor, U21, 4x Senior All Irelandâs.
5x Tipp SHC & 5x Tipp SFC and the Munster Club too.
Heâll stay playing with Loughmore for another decade yet.
@Batigol making a killing there.
Thatâs @iron_mike surely
14 games i read i think
That man is taking an enormous health risk visiting the return machines
@iron_mike has stared down death before
The rumour goes that he was going to be told to sling his hook by the Board but he chose to fall on his sword instead before they had a chance to act
Comical stuff
They are an embarrassment.
@peddlerscross this is why you never pick a fight with internet cranks.
I read a long tweet from him recently saying coaching underage teams was entirely about developing players & people, that it required a specific skill set & how youâre in the completely wrong role if youâre involved in an underage set up & focused solely on match outcomes & winning. Very sensible stuff really.
If itâs one thing twitter coaches place very little stock in, itâs winning matches.
User experience, buy in, personal development, bonds, tactical awareness etc are all far more important than winning matches.
Focusing on winning is for dinosaurs.
