Lovely sticksmen all but lacking a Bonnar Maher type
I was away for a few years so havenât seen much underage stuff but I wouldnât be putting OâReilly as a definite based on this year. He looked physically outmatched at u20 level last week let alone senior
Tipp will always have plenty of forwards that will ping it over if you put the ball in their hand for them.
You need a ham and egger or two if you canât win the dirty ball cc @neilld
Tipp will change the game. Bend it to their will.
It is a big ask to have Murray at centre back as a teenager at senior level. He looks a fine reader and stickman but there is more to being an I/C centre back than that.
Mccarthy looks a bit of an enigma to me, he had plenty of cut and skill to him but he isnât big, he isnât fast and at senior he isnât overly strong. Think YHOTY may well end up being a millstone around his neck.
Tbf Costigan and OOD are big men and good ball winners and Tobin runs himself into the ground every day.
Morris can also win ball, not aerially but around the pitch. Heâs probably a bit underrated overall both within Tipp and outside, he nearly always shows up in mostly poor Tipp teams in his career.
Is Morris underrated? Heâs probably the best player ye have. One of few if not the only one youâd say would definitely get onto any other team, or most of them.
He comes in if Cahill steps away now? Sheedy? Cummins?
A very close runner up in HotY last year so heâs not really under rated
OâReilly has it. It might take him a couple of years to fully fill out but he should be allowed learn his trade/make mistakes etc.
Heâd be a perfect man in the modern game to track these small, nippy forwards that drift out the field. Most counties have one of them. William Buckley, Peter Casey, David Reidy (Clare) etc.
The problem I foresee with Murray is that he could be too versatile and heâll be moved around between 5-12.
I think he showed enough in the U20âs campaign that he should be a centre back and left there to make it his own.
Interesting to see where Thurles play him this year.
What position would you say he actually played in for the U20 team? He didnât do much marking against Clare in the final.
A big talent no doubt.
Liz Howard has passed away.
A tough cookie.
We got to a junior B football county final in the middle of December in 2000. It was our 2nd team vs their 1st team. They were winning by about 5 points with 5 minutes left when she started unfurling a big âBurgess - county champsâ flag. We snatched a draw with a late surge and she took dogs abuse at the end nearly starting a row in the stand.
They beat us in the replay a week later and she was like a peacock with the flag at the end taking on all comers.
A prolific letter writer over the years.

Limerick in 2018 didnât have too many of the old guard 25+
God rest her. Wasnât a simple woman but she was a trailblazer and didnât take too many backward steps.
She was offered the anchor early on on the Sunday game and chose pundit instead.
An air hostess with Aer Lingus back in the day?
RIP
That sounds familiar
