Tipperary Matters

When the pub in Annacarty has been converted into a Gastrobar, you know the end is nigh :joy:

The complete opposite would be my view. Coffee is where its at now , we still drink enough porter, just not as much as we used to

Regan is just trolling Magnier now

That’s a terrific read. Magnier is an old man and doesn’t seem to know when to step off the stage.

I assume that’s John Breslins son he owns cafe en Seine with?

Yer man of the Crowe’s opening or has opened Bertie’s in Dundrum

Yep

Still running Jerry Jacks for the food afaik

Yeah Willie is in Jerry Jacks. Berties was open last week. Think they are converting some of it into a cafe

@peddlerscross I hear Jimmy White’s is another West Tipperary establishment doing well at the moment.

It cleaned up after the Sologheadbeg commemoration last Sunday.

No sign of fair weather republicans like @Fagan_ODowd in attendance this year though.

I’ll have to detour down that way some time. I’m pretty sure I delivered beer/cider to it about 20 years ago.

Lar Corbett has closed up shop in Thurles. Maybe the long rumoured takeover of Hayes’ Hotel will come to fruition

I could walk to it if I put my mind to it.

It was meant to be absolutely iconic years ago when lads would take their Sow to the Boar at 10 or 11 o’clock in the morning and give the day drinking there then.

We used to be a proper country etc.

My father in law grew up in a pub/shop in the 50s; the lads bringing the milk churns to the creamery in the morning would stop in on the way home and leave the ass and cart outside.

When they had their fill and headed for home at dinner time, they’d lie off in the cart for 40 winks and the ass would mosey on back to the yard

Tis easy clean up with Mary Heffernans now closed. They used do some January years ago between Dan Breens anniversary and the Solohead commemoration. Better than any Christmas.

J Vance in uniform there at the side?

I suppose a lack of running water wouldn’t be felt as badly in Tipp Town at least

I’ve been on a boiled water notice for almost three weeks now so there’s been work going on but seems the Irish Water lads have now fucked it up completely.

Hard to believe that in the county of TD’s Lowry and McGrath
